Every year in August I offer my breastfeeding minis to moms and I am so glad when they take me up on it! It is such a special time in your life that just needs to be documented! I have nursed both of my kids for a very, yes very long time, and while some people might frown upon it, it was the right thing for us. I am a firm believer that everyone needs to do what works best for them and that everyone else should just back off. The world would be a much nicer place if everyone would mind their own business and pass out encouraging advice instead of putting each other down, wouldn’t you agree? Either way, coming from Germany where breastfeeding is such a normal thing, that people would never even have to talk about, I am a big believer that it is important to make sure that people are aware of breastfeeding – especially when out and about in public. The more we see it, the more it will become the norm and the less ashamed woman will be to feed their babies in public places. Though, no one should ever be ashamed or embarrassed, but I know there are trolls everywhere that just love to put other people down. It’s a sad thing really! Anyways, this special mom and her gorgeous family joined me for a fun evening at the beach and we were able to capture some special moments besides some beautiful family portraits. I am so excited to share them with you today. (Disclaimer: the regular breastfeeding minis are for mom & baby only but this family choose to upgrade to include family shots)
Oh and yes, I am fully aware that not everyone is able to breastfeed for whatever reason, and that is completely ok, as I said above everyone has to do what works best for them and their situation. If breastfeeding is not an option for you, I offer mom & me snuggle sessions instead, the main reasons of these sessions are to celebrate mom and their little ones, whatever way everyone is the most happy!
